Invictus..

Here is a poem which i read atleast once a day.. since when... u would know:)

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Many may know what this is.. indeed a poem.. a poem strong enough to rake the souls of people. To me... its a beautiful pieces coming together in a movie..that goes by the same name.. INVICTUS.. to those who dunno its a movie directed by Clint Eastwood with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon in the lead....

To be very honest... i din know what the movie was about..i watched it cos it was occupying space on my system... and cos a frnd of mine watched it.... last but not the least watched it to kill time... I was at loss of words..when the movie got over.... It was not a high tech sci fi nor a romantic movie... it was neither a drama loaded with dialogues nor an adventure like u-know-who-found-the-treasure.... It was a simple story of a man... who people lovingly called madiba.. ...who chose to lead than to break down in a dark suffocating cell.. who chose to dust away the anger in hearts of his people than breaking stones for killing time...

Simple movie..neatly presented...and when the movie gt over it looked as if it was faster than expected... enough said...

i was so impressed by the way the poem is framed into the movie that i had to get the details about the poem.. how beautiful ...a Victorian poem.. untitled at first...and later given an apt title which it holds now...INVICTUS..meaning 'unconquerable', 'undefeated'... Speaking of which how can i not mention... Morgan Freeman's aura in de film.... The perfection is seen when he delivers his lines... and portrays the character... Next to him of course is Matt Damon... who made his mark by making his part very light and effective... and finally my fav part of the movie occurs from 1:18:34 to 1:20:44 ...esp last five seconds of this...However i found sum similarities between this movie and Chak de India.. u wud find out why:)

I aint gonna tell ... go watch de movie... cos those who want to, would have searched it in google by the time they came to this line.. to others i say.. u wanna see a difference... try this movie!
